MCGOWAN, SHIRLEY MARGARET (NEE GUNNING) On 12^th December 2022 peacefully at The Oaks Care Centre, aged 90 years.  Loving and caring wife of the late Jim (Jimmy Boy).

Much loved mum and mother-in-law of Susan and Ivan Stratford, Mary Alkemade and Michael (deceased).  Treasured grandma of Ryan Stratford, Abbie Lucas, Scott, Laura and Brendan Alkemade.  Grandma Shirley of Max Stratford, Jack and Devon Lucas, Josie and James Alkemade.  Loved daughter of Clarence (Gargum) and Ena Gunning, sister of Trevor and Alan (all Deceased)  Thank you to the staff at The Oaks Care Centre for their care over the past 4 years.  In lieu of flowers donations to Dementia Canterbury (in memory of Jim) would be appreciated and may be made online bit.ly/smmcgowan1212

A Mass for Shirley will be Celebrated at St Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 74 Hei Hei Road, Hei Hei, Christchurch on Thursday 15^th December at 10.00.a.m. Followed by interment in Waimairi Cemetery.  Rosary will be recited in the Church (today) Wednesday 14^th at 7.00.p.m.
